Position Title: Store Director

The Store Director is responsible for managing the entire activity of the retail food store.  The Director ensures the profitable operation of all departments in the store; schedules work loads; hires and trains store personnel; and resolves all store personnel issues.

Duties (not inclusive):

  • Implements company customer service program to the fullest extent possible.  Interacts with store's neighborhood or community to positively position the company’s presence.
  • Establishes schedules to ensure good housekeeping and sanitation practices; ensures proper maintenance of equipment and facilities for a safe working environment. 
  • Prepares quarterly and yearly budgets with Regional Director.  Assists Regional Director with establishing store goals as assigned.  Maintains constant follow-up to ensure budgeted sales, gross profit and controllable expense goals are being achieved. 
  • Monitors competition regularly for pricing, variety, quality and merchandising.
  • Implements and maintains work schedules, labor control and store payroll expense control programs. 
  • Implements company merchandising and inventory programs. 
  • Implements and maintains positive associate relations and benefits programs.  Seeks assistance from Human Resources when necessary.  Performs staff management and administrative duties of: recruitment, training, performance evaluation, development and disciplinary actions. 

 Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree in Business Administration or related field or equivalent combination of education and/or experience. 
  • Minimum of 5 years progressive retail grocery management experience required.  At least 2 years prior Assistant Store Director/Manager grocery experience preferred. 
  • Strong PC skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and Lotus Notes. 
  • Must communicate effectively, be highly motivated, and possess strong interpersonal, leadership, multi-tasking, planning and organizational skills.  Experienced in problem solving, decision making and resolving conflict.
